Our Culture “This is how we do things here”

Our aim is to help the world become a better place, therefore we need to make sure we care about our people and give them the power to build great things. These are some of the things that define our culture:

We Trust: Our team structure relies on self-organisation. We want to work with colleagues who don’t have to look ‘up’ for approval, nor look ‘down’ and give instructions. As soon as you step inside, we will provide you with the best tools and technology, and then we will trust you to do great things.

We Care: For ourselves, our colleagues, the organisation. We know what we do is important and we have a strong sense of responsibility for the work we do.

We Grow: As we are always embarking on new projects and challenges, a continuous learning mindset and a “Can Do” attitude is a must We are conscientious, we focus on learning and achieving our goals We give power to people so they can make decisions, and plot their own paths with help from all around them

We have fun: We also know that you need to balance seriousness with fun. If you can make people smile you will be off to a great start!

Role Mission. Why does it exist?

In 2021, Vizzuality will expand its communications team and its offering within the sustainability sector. Specifically, we will begin developing a product that supports the sustainable management of international food supply chains. To support us in these efforts, we are looking for a curious and creative person who enjoys making digital content. Your content will raise awareness of Vizzuality’s experience, expertise and approach to sustainable business.

The ultimate impact of this work is:

To support the regular publication of digital content that communicates Vizzuality’s work and knowledge. To show how our tools and knowledge can help businesses make decisions to be more cost-effective and sustainable. To help us grow as a company and help some of the world’s largest corporations reach a net-zero future.

A day in the life of a Communications & Digital Content Specialist at Vizzuality

A typical day will involve planning and developing content for internal and external audiences. You will do this in collaboration with your colleagues, who include scientists, designers, developers, project managers and our business development team. The content you create will be varied — it could be an Instagram carousel, a blog post, a webinar, or something else — but it will always meet a specific need of our audience.

Some examples of specific tasks include:

Writing blogs, writing website copy, and creating social media content. Evaluating and ensuring brand coherence, quality, and voice in communication pieces. Organising webinars and in-person events. Working with our Communications and Business Development team to help develop a plan to market Vizzuality’s services to the corporate sustainability audience.

These are some of the things you will be achieving in your first year at Vizzuality

In your first month: You’ll pair with your peers at Vizzuality to learn what our processes and tools are. You’ll meet with Project Managers and representatives from across the team to understand what they do and how we all work together. We’ll introduce you to, and onboard you, onto your projects.

During the following months: You will help your communication team colleagues shape content plans for Vizzuality and one of our biggest projects. You will create content for internal and external audiences. You will become familiar with Vizzuality’s brand guidelines. You’ll begin a small research project that will allow you to become more familiar with the sustainability marketplace.

By the end of the first year: You will be ready to manage Vizzuality’s social media and lead the community management on these channels. You will be evaluating and ensuring brand coherence in communication pieces and helping your colleagues do the same.

These are some of the skills and experiences we are looking for in a candidate (*) Even if you think you don’t tick all the boxes below, we’d still love to hear from you. Nobody checks every box, and we are looking for someone excited to join the team and aligned with our purpose!
